Rama-Basha argue over German MP Krichbaum

TIRANA, April 21/ATA/-The Chairman of the Democratic Party in opposition Lulzim Basha condemned on Saturday what he called a campaign of groundless slanders against the German lawmaker Gunther Krichbaum.

Basha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama for launching this campaign in the media organs under his control and saying that it runs counter to every democratic and European value.

“Krichbaum has been critical to the government so that to help the country advance toward the EU integration. But, instead of facing the reality, PM Rama has launched a campaign of fake news and slanders against the Chairman of the Committee on EU Affairs at Bundestag”, said Basha.

On his part, PM Rama reacted against the charges of the DP leader Basha and asked him to stop casting mud at the expense of Albania, at least until June.

PM Rama wrote on the Facebook that Basha is abusing with his friends.

Further on, PM Rama writes that, “Krischbaum is not among the well-wishers of the ruling Socialist Party or our government. I don’t agree with his opinion on the work of my government and I have told him so in person and not behind his back. He enjoys my estimation for his help with the Justice Reform, but he and no other foreigner has ever been the target of any attack orchestrated by me or the Socialist Party.”

As the saying goes, “If you blame sb for sth he hasn’t done, you may have done it by yourself”, concludes the prime minister./a.g/p.s./
