Berisha: DP will not back down from protests, prepares for local elections

TIRANA, Nov 3 /ATA/ Democratic Party Chairman, Sali Berisha, stated that the opposition will not back down from protests, while calling for the mobilization of party structures and the continuation of preparations for the upcoming local elections.

During a meeting held today at DP headquarters with the Tirana county working groups, Berisha discussed the continuation of the opposition’s action, the organization of protests, and the strengthening of structures on the ground.

He emphasized that the energy generated by civic mobilization, particularly the engagement of young people, must be converted into a lasting political force.
“The youth outburst must not go to waste. We will not give up on protesting, as protesting is part of who we are,” Berisha stated, calling for the continued mobilization of Democratic Party structures.
Berisha stated that the opposition’s primary goals are confronting the Rama government, driving political change, and using protests as civic and political pressure. He urged DP structures to prepare for the upcoming local elections, stressing that local ground organization must advance alongside protest efforts.
Another issue discussed was the coalition of political and societal forces against the government. “We hope to build a united front in the interest of the country,” declared Berisha.
The meeting with the Tirana county working groups took place as part of the Democratic Party’s commitment to strengthening its structures, expanding civic mobilization, and coordinating opposition action.
