Karakaçi confirms full financial support for key infrastructure and energy initiatives

TIRANA, Nov 3 /ATA/ -By Maela Marini/ Infrastructure and Energy Minister Enea Karakaçi said the ministry’s 2027 budget would fully finance its priority projects in the infrastructure and energy sectors.

He noted that the budget included investment in road infrastructure and water supply and sewerage networks in all 12 counties.

“We remain committed to investing in the country’s development, improving people’s lives and advancing Albania’s European future. The budget maintains spending ceilings while ensuring full funding for the ministry’s infrastructure and energy projects,” Karakaçi said.

Minister Karakaçi said that key road infrastructure projects included the continued construction of the Elbasan bypass, the widening of the Tirana–Durrës motorway, which would be fully completed under the 2027 budget, and the reconstruction of the Kombinat–Ndroq–Plepa road, a project with full funding secured.

“The 2027 budget will accelerate the implementation of these projects. Significant investment is also planned for the water supply and sewerage sector. With a total allocation of 15 billion lek, funding will be provided for 14 water supply system projects and eight sewerage and wastewater treatment plant projects, covering all 12 counties across the country,” he said.

According to Minister Karakaçi, the 2027 budget is a development tool that directly supports the economy, improves connectivity across the country and enhances citizens’ quality of life.

“It is a budget that invests in Albania’s development and future by fully supporting the country’s modernisation and its efforts to meet the standards required for EU membership,” he said.
