Rama reiterates call for dialogue with students and academic staff

TIRANA, Nov 2 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama on Monday reiterated his invitation to dialogue with students and lecturers who continue their protest, expressing the government’s willingness to take their proposals on board and address the concerns they have raised.

Rama shared footage on social media of the stone table installed in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, bearing the inscription “Dialogue”, in another appeal for talks with representatives of the protest movement.

However, protesters have so far turned down the Prime Minister’s offer of dialogue, insisting on his resignation and vowing to continue their demonstrations.

Rama, meanwhile, has said he is open to considering any proposals put forward by students and academic staff, adding that the government is working on a package of measures aimed at addressing their demands.

According to the Prime Minister, listening to citizens’ concerns must translate into concrete decisions and tangible support. In this regard, he noted that the 2027 state budget also provides for additional measures to support families, public services and students.

Meanwhile, Rama warned that any attempts to incite urban unrest, fuel religious divisions or undermine Albania’s tradition of tolerance and harmony would be met with accountability.
