TIRANA, Nov. 1 /ATA/ – The haemodialysis service came under the management of the state-run Integrated Health Services Operator (OSHISH), following the expiry of its concession contract, Health and Social Welfare Minister Klodiana Spahiu announced on Sunday.
Spahiu said teams had been working to prepare the service for full operation, ensuring continuity of treatment and care for patients.
Full operation is scheduled to begin on Nov. 2, with patient safety and quality of care remaining the main priorities, she said.
The transfer to state management is also intended to improve the integration of haemodialysis with other hospital services and expand patients’ access to treatment closer to their homes.
Spahiu stressed that the change in management would not affect patients’ access to treatment, adding that supplies had been distributed to centres and staff were working to ensure the service operated fully.
“The haemodialysis service continues without interruption. Our priority is the safety and care of every patient,” the minister said.
