International painting colony opens in honour of Albanian artist Vangjush Mio

TIRANA, Oct 29 /ATA/ – An international painting colony bringing together Albanian and foreign artists opened on Tuesday at the Vangjush Mio House Museum in the south-eastern city of Korça, celebrating the legacy of the renowned Albanian painter.

United by a shared passion for art and its ability to transcend borders, participating artists will use the universal language of art to turn Korça into a meeting point for creativity, inspiration and cultural dialogue, organisers said.

The event marks the 16th edition of the “Mio Days” International Art Symposium, which promotes exchanges among artists and adds an international dimension to the city’s cultural life.

The event runs until October 31 at two venues: the Vangjush Mio House Museum and the Guri Madhi Art Gallery in Korça.

The annual painting colony is organised by Korça Municipality, the Korça Art and Culture Centre and the Guri Madhi Art Gallery.
