Malaj: Albania’s September inflation rate below EU average at 2.9%

TIRANA, Oct 26  /ATA/ Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj said Albania recorded an inflation rate of 2.9% in September, lower than the European Union average.

In a social media post, Malaj emphasised that the figure reflected the resilience of the Albanian economy and the measures taken to address price pressures.

Minister Malaj announced that the Transparency Board had been reinstated to monitor the fuel market, while another mechanism available to mitigate the impact of rising prices is a reduction in excise duty.

Malaj also highlighted the Price Dashboard as a tool for increasing transparency and enabling citizens to compare the prices of everyday products.

According to Malaj, the objective is to maintain price stability and support the purchasing power of Albanian households.
