Flu vaccination campaign underway for medical staff at Tirana university hospital

TIRANA, Oct. 22 /ATA/ – A flu vaccination campaign for medical staff has been launched at the Mother Teresa University Hospital Centre (QSUNT) in Tirana as part of efforts to protect healthcare workers and patients.

Health and Social Welfare Minister Klodiana Spahiu said in a social media post on Thursday that vaccinations for healthcare personnel were also under way across the country.

Protecting healthcare workers is essential to ensuring patient safety and the continuity of health services, Spahiu said.

The campaign aims to reduce the risk of influenza infection and transmission, particularly among patients with underlying conditions and vulnerable groups, including older people, children and pregnant women.

The initiative forms part of broader preventive measures to protect public health and strengthen safety in healthcare facilities.
