TIRANA, Oct 13 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Tuesday in Luxembourg that “Albania is closing another chapter with the European Union today, reaffirming that progress towards our historic goal is unstoppable.”
Speaking to the media upon his arrival at the European Convention Centre for the closure of negotiations on Chapter 20, “Enterprise and Industrial Policy”, Rama said the plans were ambitious and that further chapters were expected to be closed by the end of this year.
“We have returned once again to close another chapter and reaffirm that progress towards our historic goal is unstoppable. Meanwhile, I have just held several encouraging meetings on what comes next. Our plans are ambitious, and we aim to close even more chapters by the end of this year,” Rama said.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that Albania would remain fully on schedule at every stage of the process.
Asked how many chapters would be closed by the end of this year, Rama said he could not provide a figure.
“Today, we will close another chapter, bringing the total to four. At least twice as many chapters remain, and that is the number we expect to close this year. But we shall see,” Rama said.
