TIRANA, September 5/ATA/ Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha received the new EU ambassador to Tirana, Sofia Moreira de Sousa.
“It may be Saturday and a blessed day, but in our EU accession process there is no pause and no time to spare”, Hoxha wrote in a post on the “X” network after the meeting with the ambassador.
He noted that, “We had a substantive exchange on Albania’s EU accession process, including preparations for the forthcoming milestones in our European journey and the importance of maintaining the pace and momentum of the negotiations”.
The Albanian chief-diplomat underlined Albania’s continued commitment to delivering reforms and advancing decisively across negotiation chapters.
“We cannot stress this enough: the accession process must remain firmly grounded in merit, delivery and mutual trust. Albania is doing its part, with the determination, discipline and sense of purpose that our ambition requires. Our approach is clear: through reforms, we bring more Europe into Albania every day, while moving with determination and clarity towards conclusion of the negotiations and our historic objective of becoming a member of the European Union within this decade”, the minister underlined.
In conclusion, Hoxha gave welcome to Ambassador Sofia Moreira de Sousa to Albania and emphasized: “Your success will be a success for our special partnership, just as enlargement is a shared success: more prosperity for Albania, but also a strategic investment for a stronger, more secure and more united Europe”. /p.s./
