TIRANA, Aug. 31 /ATA/ – More than 17,000 textbooks will be distributed to Albanian children living abroad for the 2026-27 school year, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha said on Monday, stressing the importance of preserving the Albanian language and cultural heritage among the diaspora.
More than 5,700 teaching sets have been planned for 15 European countries, as well as the United States and Canada, Hoxha said.
The materials include the joint textbooks Albanian Language and Albanian Culture for first-, second- and third-level students.
“In cooperation with the Centre for Diaspora Publications and the Ministry of Education, we will do our utmost to meet 100% of the requests,” Hoxha said.
The inclusion of the third level is the main new feature this school year and marks an important step towards completing the cycle of joint textbooks for the Albanian diaspora, she said.
Diplomatic missions are updating data on the number of students, their education levels, teachers and distribution addresses, Foreign Minister said, urging parents and teachers abroad to follow announcements and guidance from Albanian embassies and diplomatic missions in their respective countries.
