Albanian Armed Forces conduct joint exercise with Italian troops

TIRANA, Aug 30 /ATA/ – Albania’s Armed Forces have conducted a joint training exercise with Italian troops deployed as part of a NATO mission in Bulgaria, the Defence Ministry said on Sunday.

The eighth contingent of Albania’s Northern Infantry Regiment, stationed in Novo Selo under NATO’s Forward Land Forces (FLF) mission, took part in the exercise, which included live-fire drills, close-quarter defence and night patrols, the ministry said.

The training strengthened individual and collective capabilities, improving operational readiness and the implementation of common NATO standards, it said.

The exercise with Italian personnel demonstrated the value of cooperation with a friendly NATO ally and the strength of the two countries’ partnership, according to the Ministry.

“Together, for greater interoperability and the professional fulfilment of the mission,” the Ministry said.
