TIRANA, August 12 /ATA/ This afternoon, Tirana caught a spectacular partial view of the total solar eclipse—the first to be observed in Europe in 20 years. Ready just before sunset around 19:30, astronomy fans gathered on Mount Dajti and the surrounding hills to capture images of the rare event.
During the rare total eclipse event more than 90% of the Sun was covered by the Moon.
Experts advised that the once-in-a-generation event should be watched with special eclipse glasses.
The event was followed with special interest in many European countries. /p.s./
