Minister: 14 research projects funded in 2026, from AI to youth well-being

TIRANA, Aug. 12 /ATA/ – Education, technology, employment and youth well-being are at the centre of 14 scientific research projects funded in Albania in 2026, Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro said on Wednesday.

Marking International Youth Day, Kumbaro said the projects, funded through the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation, addressed key challenges and needs facing the younger generation.

The research covers topics ranging from university skills and preparing young people for the labour market to the use of artificial intelligence and digitalisation in education.

Other projects focus on psychological and social well-being, inclusion, environmental awareness and climate skills, as well as youth leadership, bullying, discrimination, social justice and youth rights.

Kumbaro said public funding for scientific research aimed to support projects addressing real-life questions and challenges facing young people, linking research to their educational, career, technological and social needs.

“Investing in knowledge, research and innovation is an investment in the younger generation and in the future,” Kumbaro said.
