TIRANA, Aug. 7 /ATA/ – The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, said on Friday that the legal framework governing corporate conversions provides businesses with greater flexibility to adapt their structure to changing operational and investment needs.
In an informational message addressed to the business community, Ibrahimaj said corporate conversion allows companies to change their legal form without interrupting their economic activity, while preserving their rights and obligations.
Under Albanian legislation, companies may convert from a limited liability company (ShPK) into a joint-stock company (SHA), or vice versa, in accordance with procedures established by law.
The process involves several stages, including notifying and convening shareholders or partners to approve the conversion, followed by the final registration and approval procedures required under the legal framework.
Ibrahimaj encouraged businesses seeking detailed guidance to consult the updated Law on Entrepreneurs and Commercial Companies, which regulates the conversion process and related documentation requirements.
She said proper implementation of these procedures enables companies to adjust their legal structure to support expansion plans, attract investment and meet evolving business needs, while ensuring continuity of operations.
The minister also urged businesses to follow updates published by Albania’s National Business Centre (QKB), which provides guidance and information on services available to entrepreneurs and companies.
