Reduced rates and 70% government-guaranteed collateral, says Sejko during “Double Your Entrepreneurship” program presentation

TIRANA, July 17/ATA/ Governor of the Bank of Albania Gent Sejko participated in the presentation ceremony of the National Program “Double Your Entrepreneurship”, hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, with the participation of representatives of the government, the banking sector, the business community and public institutions.

During the panel on “Financing as an engine of economic development”, Governor Sejko participated in the discussion together with Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj and President of the Albanian Association of Banks Bledar Shella.

Governor Sejko highlighted the significance of small and medium-sized enterprises as the main pillar of the Albanian economy, underlining their role in creating jobs and promoting economic development.

He focused on the improvements made to the National Program “Double Your Entrepreneurship”, which include extending the financing term and increasing the maximum amount of financing, measures that aim to expand financing and investment opportunities for businesses.

The Governor noted that the program offers particularly favorable financing conditions, with low interest rates and sovereign guarantees covering up to 70% of the collateral, facilitating businesses’ access to financing.

In conclusion, Governor Sejko called on banks to be proactive in implementing the program and businesses to take advantage of the opportunities it offers, emphasizing that this initiative will contribute not only to expand lending, but also to diversify the banks’ portfolio and strengthen entrepreneurial activity in the country.

He expressed his gratitude for cooperation with the Albanian Government and the banking sector in the design and implementation of the program and expressed his confidence that this year the program will bring even better results in financing small and medium-sized enterprises. /p.s./
