Albania joins ECLFM, Gogu says membership opens new opportunities for professional and scientific development

TIRANA, July 9 /ATA/ Albania has joined ECLFM (European Council of Legal and Forensic Medicine), the highest European body for legal and forensic medicine.

Minister of Justice Toni Gogu said Albania’s membership in ECLFM strengthens the country’s position within the European forensic medicine community and opens new opportunities for professional and scientific development.

The membership enables Albania to be officially represented in Europe’s highest body for forensic medicine, contribute to the development of European standards for autopsies, crime scene investigations and forensic examinations, and participate in scientific projects and international working groups.

Gogu said the membership is also expected to strengthen cooperation with European counterpart institutions, improve the training and professional development of Albanian specialists, and enhance the credibility and international recognition of the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

“An achievement that brings Albania closer to the highest European standards and strengthens the quality of forensic expertise in the service of justice,“ Gogu said.
