Contemporary dance performance explores migration and hope at Durrës Archaeological Museum

TIRANA, July 6 /ATA/- The Durrës Archaeological Museum hosted Urlo Mediterraneo (Mediterranean Cry), an emotionally charged contemporary dance performance that blended movement, theatre, music and spoken word to explore the human stories of migration, loss and hope.

Directed and choreographed by Lino Privitera, the production featured artists from the Compagnia Danza Contemporanea of Italy alongside Jusuf Beshiri and the OSFA String Quartet, creating an evocative dialogue between dance, sound and emotion.

The programme also incorporated Arbëresh melodies, highlighting the enduring cultural links and shared heritage of Mediterranean communities.

Performers delivered a poignant interpretation of the work, engaging audiences with a production that combined artistic expression with reflections on one of the region’s most pressing human experiences.

The event formed part of Durrës’ summer cultural calendar, which continues on Sunday evening with another Chamber Fest Durrës concert featuring works by Antonio Vivaldi performed by artists participating in the chamber music festival.
