TIRANA, July 5 /ATA/ – Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi met Gunnar Schellenberger, president of the parliament of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, on Sunday to discuss strengthening parliamentary cooperation and expanding bilateral ties.
The talks focused on enhancing institutional relations and promoting cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including the economy, education, culture and technology.
Peleshi also highlighted the potential of Albanian cities such as Korçë to deepen cooperation with German partners, particularly through education, culture, innovation and stronger links between local authorities, institutions and communities.
“We discussed strengthening parliamentary cooperation, supporting closer institutional ties and creating new opportunities for collaboration in the fields of the economy, education, culture and technology,” Peleshi said in a social media post.
He said both sides also underlined the role cities such as Korçë could play in broadening cooperation between Albania and Germany through educational, cultural and innovation partnerships.
Peleshi expressed gratitude for Germany’s continued support for Albania’s European Union accession process and its contribution to advancing democratic reforms.
