TIRANA, July 4 /ATA/The Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Albania, Kathryn Hammond, praised the role of the American Chamber of Commerce in Albania as a bridge between businesses and a driver of investment during an event marking U.S. Independence Day.
Speaking at a reception hosted in Tirana by the American Chamber of Commerce to mark U.S. Independence Day, Hammond said the strength of the United States has been built on entrepreneurship, innovation and the courage to pursue new ideas.
‘America’s strength has always come from people willing to take risks, pursue new ideas, build businesses, and create opportunity. That spirit remains one of our greatest assets today. And it’s why organizations like AmCham matter so much. AmCham Albania embodies that spirit – building bridges between businesses, supporting investment, and creating opportunity on both sides of the Atlantic. The U.S. Embassy is proud to stand with you.” – Hammond said.
She said that this year feels especially meaningful. ‘We’re approaching 250 years of American independence – a moment to reflect not just on where we’ve been, but on what carries us forward.’
According to her, for 250 years, the American story has been built on a simple but powerful idea: that if you give people freedom and a fair shot, incredible things happen. Thirteen colonies embraced that idea. And it paid off.
