TIRANA, June 6 /ATA/ – Albanian-Australian swimmer and lawyer Eva Buzo has completed another long-distance swim in Albanian waters, crossing from Radhima to Sazan Island in Albania’s southwest.
The 38-year-old, who lives in Australia, was initially accompanied by members of her support and safety teams before continuing the challenge alone along Sazan’s coastline, covering a route of roughly 15 km.
Buzo is no stranger to endurance swimming challenges in Albania. In 2024, she drew international attention after completing a 92-km swim from San Foca, near Lecce in southern Italy, to Albania’s Karaburun Peninsula. The crossing took 34 hours and concluded near Cape Gjuhëz.
Born in Australia to an Albanian family, Buzo has maintained close ties with her ancestral homeland. Beyond her sporting pursuits, she has been actively involved in human rights and social justice initiatives.
Her professional experience includes work across East Africa, South Asia and Australia with international humanitarian organizations, including World Vision and Save the Children.
