Roadmap 2030 approved: Koçiu states Albania’s institutional progress irreversible

TIRANA, May 28/ATA/ Today, the government approved the 2030 Sustainable Development Roadmap to drive EU integration.

Speaking at a press briefing, Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu highlighted this crucial decision as a direct follow-up to the recent Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference.

Koçiu said that the government decisions ensure once again that the work of Albanian institutions is irreversible and consolidated.

Koçiu informed that the national roadmap for achieving sustainable development objectives by 2030 is a strategic document that carries 66 measurable criteria”.

“These criteria will guide the work of public institutions in accordance with Albania’s 2030 agenda”, added Koçiu.

Another important decision adopted at today’s meeting is the strategic partnership between the Albanian institutions and government with the United Nations agencies for the period 2027-2031.

Koçiu emphasized that this is an important document that has undergone public consultation not only with institutions and civil society, but also with international partners.

“This document rests on three core pillars: first, developing resilient human capital and institutional capacity to drive the European agenda; second, accelerating sustainable economic transformation and green growth to elevate citizen services,” said Koçiu.

The deputy prime minister also highlighted good governance, justice and human rights.

“These are three important pillars. When it comes to the great European aspiration, all decision-making comes in the wake of consolidating the rule of law, strengthening human capacities, transformation and continuous and sustainable economic growth which are essentially the standards of a European Albania”, said Koçiu. /a.f/p.s./
