TIRANA, May 10/ATA/ On Europe Day, the German Embassy in Tirana joined other EU ambassadors accredited to Albania in a statement strongly supporting Ambassador Silvio Gonzato. The collective message emphasized united backing for the EU Ambassador and his team.
The joint statement of EU Ambassadors accredited to Albania reads:
“In light of the unjust and unacceptable criticism against the EU and its representatives, the EU ambassadors accredited to Albania issue the following statement. On Europe Day, we stand united in support of the EU Ambassador and his team and we reaffirm our full confidence in their professionalism, integrity, and dedicated service.”
This message published by the German Embassy in Tirana comes a day after the leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha said that the ambassador acted as a proxy for Prime Minister Edi Rama and sent “untrue fabrications” to Brussels. /a.f/p.s./
