TIRANA, April 24 /ATA/ – The cruise ship “Monet” arrived off the port of Vlora on Friday with foreign tourists on board, marking the opening of the summer tourist season in the southern Albania coastal city.
The Vlora Port Authority said the vessel, sailing under the Kingstown flag, is the first cruise ship to call this season. Carrying 48 tourists from countries including Croatia, Portugal, Germany and the United Kingdom, it docked at 07:45 a.m.
Passengers are expected to visit several tourist attractions in and around the city.
The ship arrived from Durres and is scheduled to remain in Vlora until Friday evening before it departs for its next destination, Saranda.
The number of cruise ships calling at Vlora has been rising steadily in recent years, driven by growing interest in Albania’s Ionian coastline and its rich cultural heritage.
