TIRANA, April 20 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said he was in Abu Dhabi on Sunday on a visit to express solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, amid heightened tensions in the Arabian Gulf.
In a social media post, the government head said the trip comes “at a turbulent time for friendly countries in the Arabian Gulf,” adding he was confident they would emerge “stronger than ever” from the region’s challenges.
He said countries in the region had become “targets of conflict and retaliation by a state left in a dark corner of history.”
Rama said the visit aimed to convey direct support for the United Arab Emirates and reaffirm friendly ties between the two countries.
