TIRANA, April 14/ATA/ The Investment Corporation Director Elira Kokona urged diaspora leaders to leverage their trust in the nation to drive its ongoing transformation.
During her speech at the 4th Summit of the Albanian Diaspora taking place in Tirana, Kokona said that, “This is a working summit focused on building real bridges. We invite the diaspora to move beyond belief and into investment—becoming active co-builders in Albania’s transformation, not just spectators. Let’s build the future together”.
“The Diaspora brings more than just funding; they bring global expertise, new work standards, and vital networks to Albania. Through AIC’s flagship projects like Durana Tech Park and Expo Albania, we are establishing a robust innovation platform. We invite the Diaspora to join as partners—rather than merely investors—in shaping a modern, internationally-connected ecosystem,” Kokona underlined.
Further on, she said that Albania has a large reserve of public assets that have historically been underutilized, and which today, through AIC, we are turning them into engines of development.
“Projects like Lift and Void Tower are concrete examples where we are transforming depreciated buildings or unused spaces into modern structures that create economic value and urban identity. These are trusted, high-structure projects that allow the diaspora to invest securely for long-term impact”, emphasized Kokona.
Further on, Kokona said that, “Albania has a sustainable economic growth, a climate of secure investments and above all, a new pace in the implementation of projects”.
AIC Director Kokona said that, “We are transforming the public sector’s role from regulator to co-developer, managing a €1B+ investment portfolio across 85+ active projects. Our model maximizes public assets, attracting private capital to build high-value infrastructure, tourist, and economic spaces, while delivering hundreds of millions in direct economic impact through shared-risk partnerships.” /k.s/p.s./
