PM Rama: Increase in salaries and budget revenues, more economy and less corruption

TIRANA, April 9 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama championed wage growth in the business sector during a meeting today.

Rama said that allegations of corruption should not hinder the operational progress of the businesses that drive national development.

“Their corruption narrative is just a smokescreen for envy—they can’t handle our progress”, said Rama.

The prime minister also argued on the link between increased income and reduced corruption.

“Higher tax revenue is a sign of reduced corruption, not more of it. If we are collecting 14 million euros more than when corruption was higher, it shows that taxes are actually reaching the state treasury, proving that accountability has improved”, said Rama.

The prime minister emphasized that positive examples in construction and economic development show the country’s progress, while the fight against corruption constitutes the other side of the coin. /gj.m/p.s./
