Reclaiming public spaces, Sulaj urges citizens to report any encroachments

TIRANA, March 21/ATA/ Municipal Police launched an action today at the former “Bllok” area in Tirana reclaiming public space from unlawful possession.

During the inspection on the ground, it was found out that some businesses had occupied public spaces ignoring the rules.

Therefore, the relevant Tirana Municipality teams intervened immediately clearing up the public space.

Deputy Mayor of Tirana Blendi Sulaj emphasized that public spaces should not be occupied abusively by certain businesses, but are common property and should serve citizens.

“We urge all citizens to report if they see abuses in the occupation of public spaces,” said Sulaj.

For her part, Director of the Municipal Police Elona Lalaj said that there will be ongoing controls on every business or individual occupying public space. /m.q/ /a.g/p.s./
