TIRANA, October 15 /ATA/ – The European Union Delegation in Tirana strongly condemned today the violent escalation at protest and destruction of public and private property.
The EU Delegation called on protesters to exercise restraint and refrain from any acts of violence.
“Violence has no place in a democracy. Freedom of assembly and expression are fundamental rights and core European values. They should be respected and exercised peacefully,” the EU statement reads.
The EU Delegation in Tirana also emphasized that constructive dialogue between all stakeholders is the only way forward to address genuine grievances.
