TIRANA, March 20 /ATA/ Speaker of the Assembly Niko Peleshi met today in Germany President of the Bundestag Julia Klöckner.
The talks focused on deepening Parliamentary cooperation, the bilateral relations between Albania and Germany and support for Albania’s membership in the EU.
Speaker Peleshi expressed his gratitude for Germany’s key role in supporting reforms, especially in the areas of justice, democracy and electoral legislation.
Both interlocutors shared the approach for a merit-based enlargement process and for the continuation of deep reforms in Albania.
Germany is one of Albania’s main economic partners, with significant growth in investments and trade exchanges during recent years.
Speaker Peleshi pledged to further improve the business climate and attract more German investments in key sectors such as energy, industry, technology and tourism.
They also discussed developments in the region and the challenges of security and peace, emphasizing the important role of Albania and the Albanian factor for stability in the Western Balkans and cooperation with international partners. /k.s/ /a.g/p.s./
