TIRANA, March 17/ATA/ The Local Government Academy is nearly established and will appoint its head in the coming days, said Minister of State for Local Government Ervin Demo.
During a press conference, Demo said that the selection process is conducted in collaboration with municipal and regional associations, who are also members of the commission appointing the Local Government Academy head.
He emphasized that the new structure will be finalized by the end of March, after which it will focus on local government needs and challenges.
According to the minister, following the public advertisement of the vacancy, we received 22 applications.
The minister promised that the selection process will be transparent and in cooperation with other institutional partners.
The Training Academy of Local Government, launched in December 2025, is a national institution designed to strengthen the capacity of all 61 municipalities. It aims to modernize public services and train staff for EU integration standards, focusing on fund management and professionalizing the local administration. /j.p/p.s./
