TIRANA, March 12 /ATA/ The European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kós, reacted on social media following her meeting with Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha.
She stressed that Albania is a frontrunner in the EU accession process.
Kos revealed that discussions with Hoxha focused on EU’s rule of law, anti-corruption and democratic standards.
Albania is currently a frontrunner in the EU accession process. That comes with high expectations.
We are now progressing with discussions on the interim benchmarks on rule of law.
I highlighted the need for credible implementation of the interim benchmarks for Albania to keep momentum in accession negotiations.
This is an important step to reach the EU’s rule of law, anti-corruption and democratic standards, Kos concluded.
