TIRANA, March 10 /ATA/ The Chairman of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, labeled the High Court’s initiative to partially revise the unified practice of the Joint Colleges concerning the unifying decision on personal security measures as a ‘constitutional coup motivated by political considerations.’
In a media statement from the parliament presidency seat, Gazment Bardhi asserted that the recent procedure undermines the work of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) as well as the Special Court.
He criticized the High Court’s latest action, describing it as a politically directed constitutional maneuver that seeks to undermine SPAK’s work by modifying the standards for pretrial detention. Bardhi warned that such adjustments, through the predefinition of legal standards aligned with the interests of Edi Rama, could result in the release of individuals currently detained for corruption or organized crime offenses.”
