TIRANA, March 4 /ATA/ – The northern Albanian city of Shkoder on Wednesday opened an exhibition marking the 100th anniversary of the Bank of Albania, showcasing rare coins and banknotes, archival documents and original objects tracing the country’s financial history over the past century.
Titled “Money Narrates”, the exhibition was inaugurated at the “Republika” Cinema and is organised by the Bank of Albania Museum in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute as part of centennial celebrations for the central bank.
Organisers said the display aims to offer the public an overview of the evolution of Albania’s monetary system and the central bank’s role in safeguarding economic stability.
Through the materials on show, visitors are introduced to the country’s economic transformations across decades, while Shkodra reaffirmed its role as an important cultural hub hosting events that combine historical reflection with financial education.
