Health Minister attends WHX Dubai 2026, says system integration remains key challenge

TIRANA, Feb 9 /ATA/ – The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Evis Sala, took part in WHX Dubai 2026, one of the world’s leading global forums on healthcare and innovation.

Speaking at the forum, Sala outlined Albania’s progress in digital health, describing the transition from a system largely reliant on paper records to national digital platforms now used daily by doctors and healthcare institutions.

Despite the advances made, Sala said the main challenge remains the integration of systems, to allow health information to circulate more easily, avoid unnecessary duplication and ease the workload of healthcare professionals.

She stressed that technology has value only when it tangibly improves patient care, adding that Albania’s next step is to develop interconnected, secure and reliable systems in line with European standards.
