TIRANA, Feb 6 /ATA/ The second meeting on the region’s flora and fauna resources took place in Shkodra, following the previous discussion on the cultural heritage around Lake Shkodra.
The “Projection on the Lake” project, a collaboration between the Shkodra Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage (DRTK), COD, the Municipality of Shkodra, the city’s high schools, and “Luigj Gurakuqi” University, is built around three key components:
– Environmental protection through the cleanup of Lake Shkodra’s territory and shores, with a focus on removing plastic waste, especially bottles.
– Creativity through the development of a symbolic figure/installation by student groups, which represents the cultural heritage, flora, and fauna of Lake Shkodra.
– Raising awareness and engaging young people in the creation of this artistic piece by students and pupils, in the form of a mosaic, using painted plastic bottles collected during the shoreline clean-up of the lake as the primary components.
This project seeks to combine environmental protection with art and civic education, focusing on Lake Shkodra, an extraordinary natural and cultural asset, which is soon to be inscribed under UNESCO protection as a Transboundary Biosphere Reserve.
