TIRANA, February 3/ATA/ During a hearing with farmers from Cërrik, Gramsh and Belsh, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Andis Salla talked on the National Scheme 2026 and ways to better orient the direct support budget towards meeting the real needs of the farmers.
During this meeting, the minister also presented other financial instruments that the farmers can use during 2026 such as the grant schemes, soft loans, which, combined with the state guarantee, reduce the interest rate to 2% and cover the collateral up to 70%, as well as the VAT compensation.
The integrated financial support package is aimed to help the farmers at every step, from production to the market, promoting formalization, investments and increasing the competitiveness of Albanian agriculture.
Minister Salla emphasized that the government has prepared the largest financial package ever for Albanian agriculture and that the government has placed a guarantee of 250 million euros to facilitate obtaining loans with 2% interest.
The agro-processing sector will have a special focus this year, to stimulate investments and increase the value addition of agricultural products on the market. /r.e/j.p/p.s./
