TIRANA, Feb 2 /ATA/ Albanian businesses are more optimistic about the growth of their economic activities at the start of this year.
In January, the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) increased, standing 10 points above the historical average, according to the latest survey by the Bank of Albania.
The industrial sector saw a 4.8 percentage point increase in confidence, driven by improvements in production, growth in contracts, and higher exports.
Confidence in the construction sector grew by 3.1 percentage points, while the services sector recorded a rise of 7.4 percentage points, and trade increased by 4.4 percentage points. Expectations for the future remain optimistic across all these sectors.
At the same time, consumer confidence remained unchanged compared to the previous month, standing at around 1.4 percentage points above the historical average.
The survey shows an improvement in large purchases, although consumers are somewhat more reserved about their personal financial situation and the future of the national economy.
“The Business and Consumer Confidence Survey, which is co-financed by the Bank of Albania and the European Union, provides monthly data on the economic climate and the expectations of economic actors in the country.”
