Over 3.5 million tonnes of goods handled at Durres Port through November

TIRANA, Dec 24 /ATA/ – The Port of Durres kept strengthening its position as Albania’s main maritime transport hub, posting positive results during the first eleven months of 2025.

Official statistical data show that the total volume of goods handled exceeded 3.5 million tonnes, marking a 6.1% increase compared with the same period last year. This translates into around 203,000 additional tonnes processed across Durres’ four port terminals.

During the period, imports totalled 2,664,265 tonnes, while exports reached 861,370 tonnes, confirming the port’s role as a strategic centre for supplying the domestic market and an important corridor for the export of Albanian products to international markets.

Growth was driven in particular by a sharp rise in imports, which increased by 23.7%, reflecting heightened economic activity and growing confidence in the Port of Durres as a key regional logistics hub.

The container sector also recorded positive performance. From January to November 2025, the port handled 207,655 TEUs, up 14% year on year.

In tonnage terms, more than 1.92 million tonnes of goods were processed at the Container Terminal, representing a 2.9% increase and pointing to steady growth in container cargo flows.
