TIRANA, Dec 17 ATA/ – President Bajram Begaj on Wednesday said entrepreneurship plays a decisive role in strengthening the country’s economy and advancing its integration into the European Union, as Albania moves into the final stages of accession negotiations.
Speaking at a ceremony organised by the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry to honour high-performing Albanian businesses, Begaj told the business community that the completion of the EU integration process directly affects the economy and increases the strategic importance of the private sector.
The head of state stressed the need to create conditions that allow Albanian companies to successfully compete in the European market, underlining that the process requires clear rules, transparency, the rule of law and a business environment in which entrepreneurship feels protected and valued.
“Europe is a space defined by high standards of quality, ethics and accountability, which open the way for strong but fair competition and long-term success,” Begaj said, adding that cooperation between state institutions and the business community remains essential to fostering stability and trust.
The President also praised businesses that support local communities, create jobs, promote corporate social responsibility and contribute to a more open and inclusive economy.
Begaj concluded by expressing confidence that, through strong enterprises, responsible institutions and fair cooperation, Albania will move steadily toward EU membership as a competitive economy with a clear future perspective.
