TIRANA, Dec 1 /ATA/ – A protest by Greek farmers will block the Kakavijë–Ioannina road near the village of Kallpaq from 12:00 to 06:00 p.m. on Monday, Albania’s border authorities said.
Kakavijë Border Police said the road would be closed to all traffic except vehicles with medical emergencies.
“We were informed by Greek Border Police that the Kakavijë-Ioannina axis will be shut from noon to 6 p.m. due to a farmers’ protest,” the statement said.
Authorities urged drivers to adjust their travel plans and expect delays.
Long queues formed on the Greek side of the Kakavijë crossing early today, with travellers waiting more than two hours to enter Albania.
