Around 59,000 farmers supported by National Agriculture Scheme

TIRANA, Nov 27 /ATA/ Over 58,600 farmers across the country have so far benefited from the 2025 National Agricultural Support Scheme, with a total value of 2.23 billion lek. Payments continue for other eligible recipients.

The scheme provides support for registered livestock herds (cattle and small ruminants), beekeeping, seeds, seedlings, and other agricultural inputs, medicinal and aromatic plants, organic farms, Global GAP certification, as well as tax-free gasoline for mechanized agricultural operations.

The Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development (AZHBR) emphasizes that the program aims to strengthen support for farmers and promote rural development across the country.

The support schemes provide real opportunities to modernize Albanian agriculture, increase domestic production, and stimulate self-employment in rural areas.

This year, the 2025 National Investment Scheme, valued at €20 million, has been expanded with two additional financing instruments for investments: soft loans and sovereign guarantees.
