Sala: Working group for improving pharmaceutical sector, zero tolerance towards abuse

TIRANA, October 21 /ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Evis Sala, held a meeting with the representatives of the Pharmaceutical Business Union to emphasize the strengthening of dialogue and joint commitment to improve this vital sector.

“We are aware that the sector has challenges and needs for improvement. We will set up a working group to analyze and improve the pharmaceutical sector, for a sustainable and continuous cooperation with the aim of improving the quality of service for patients”, said Sala.

Minister Sala said that there is work underway for a transparent and predictable environment where businesses feel they are valued; they get support and are treated as equal partners, while there will be zero tolerance towards abusers.

The meeting with the Pharmaceutical Business Union comes a day after the meeting that Minister Sala held with the Association of Pharmaceutical Representatives, within the framework of a long-term and productive cooperation, where the voice of the industry is heard and included in the policy-making and decision-making processes.

Through cooperation with the pharmaceutical industry, the aim is to improve drug policies, as well as increase efficiency and transparency in every link of the supply chain.

The long-term goal is to create a sustainable pharmaceutical ecosystem, where innovation, quality and accountability go hand in hand in service of public health. /e.i/j.p/p.s./
