TIRANA, October 21/ATA/ The e-Albania platform is to facilitate citizens’ access to public services, offering simple and efficient options for different categories of the population.
During the period January-September 2025 alone, 4187 retired citizens have completed the online declaration of pension withdrawal at the bank, without having to physically appear at the institutions.
The electronic service, which is valid for pensioners who withdraw their pension at second-tier banks, allows declaration only once a year, significantly reducing the time and costs for this process.
This service is part of the Albanian Government’s efforts to digitalize the administration and make it easier for citizens, especially the third age group, to access public services.
Since April 3, 2024, all pensioners, the persons receiving economic assistance, beneficiaries of unemployment benefits, disabled workers or orphans, have the opportunity to open an account at second-tier banks at zero cost.
The Law “On Payment Accounts with Basic Services”, adopted in December last year, provides that these categories can have an account and be provided with a bank card, through which they can withdraw money, make payments or up to 5 bank transfers within the country with zero fees. This account is functional only in the local currency (lek), and also serves to receive the pension or economic assistance that the beneficiary categories receive. /e.xh/j.p/r.e/p.s./
