TIRANA, Oct 18 /ATA/ – Albania’s government is intensifying efforts to clear public spaces of illegal structures nationwide, Prime Minister Edi Rama said on social media on Saturday.
The government head shared images of ongoing operations to dismantle metal structures and other unauthorized constructions on sidewalks and public roads.
“No pause, in every street and neighborhood until the end,” he wrote, referring to the nationwide initiative launched in July 2025.
The campaign is part of a broader push to restore urban order, with particular focus on coastal and tourist areas. Conceived as a systematic intervention rather than a temporary action, it falls under the government’s “Urban Renewal 2.0” vision.
Citizens can report illegal constructions via the portal Hapesiraimepublike.gov.al. So far, 13,931 cases have been submitted, of which 10,356 have been resolved, while 3,575 remain under review.
Authorities say operations will continue until all illegal structures are removed.
