Balla: Historic by-elections in Tirana, for first time a woman runs for mayor

TIRANA, October 8/ATA/ The Parliamentary group whip of the ruling Socialist Party Taulant Balla held a meeting with the socialist grassroots in the municipal unit no. 5 of Tirana, the area where he is scheduled to campaign for the local by-elections of November 9, 2025.

Through a post in the social media, Balla shared his message for the “Tirana 2030” vision, stating that November 9, 2025 will be a historic date.

Balla emphasized that, “On November 9, 2025, Tirana people vote for the first time in their history a woman in the leadership of the municipality, since Tirana was declared the capital of Albanians”.

According to him, “The capital of Albania is being promoted towards a new stage”.

“The capital of Albania, a member of the European Union, is no longer a dream, but a station towards which the largest Albanian municipality is being promoted. The time has come for this large municipality, with a lot of work and challenges, to be led over the next 5 years by a woman with the right governance experience like Ogerta Manastirliu,” Balla said, while speaking of the objective for the SP to receive 20 thousand more votes in these elections, compared to the previous elections. /m.m/j.p/p.s./
