Berisha: We do not support boycott, civil protest is only way

TIRANA, September 24/ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party in opposition Sali Berisha stated today that the DP will not boycott the local by-elections, while emphasizing that there are several potential candidates to run in the elections for the mayor of Tirana.

Speaking to reporters from the Assembly headquarters, Berisha stated that the Assembly consolidated the most unconstitutional act in its history, the voting in the dark of the government program.

“Today, there was an opportunity to cancel the session and restore the Constitution. Citizens saw that everything is hopeless through following procedural and legal terms. The only way remains civic determination and protests against this mafia group that has usurped all powers and that does not recognize law, Constitution and morality,” said Berisha.

According to him, there is still no date for organizing civic protests.

Berisha emphasized that the DP does not support the boycott, since the purpose of the boycott is to prepare guerrilla movements.

“We are not a party of guerrilla movements. We are a party of conservative values. We have declared them. We do not boycott; but we participate in the elections despite the fact that they are a farce. We denounce them and we will do everything to overthrow the main cause of the farce, which is Edi Rama”, he said.

Berisha said that, “We do not boycott, but we use every space to achieve our goals. These spaces are limited, but we will use them as much as they are. I do not believe in boycotts”.

According to Berisha, “Narco-dictatorships do not go away with votes”. “This is a fact. Authoritarian regimes do not go away with votes while the main feature of authoritarian regimes is concentration of all powers in one hand”, Berisha added. /j.p/p.s./
