TIRANA, Aug 29 /ATA/ As part of the Urban Renaissance 2.0 vision, municipalities across Albania are reclaiming public areas to create greener, more vibrant cities.
Today, PM Edi Rama shared images from Tirana, where sidewalks and squares are being cleared for the community—boosting quality of life and expanding green zones.
“This isn’t just a mere operation—it’s a transformation that won’t stop halfway,” writes PM Edi Rama, alongside footage of unauthorized structures being dismantled.
Since July, the nationwide initiative to reclaim public spaces from private encroachment has been in full swing—freeing up sidewalks and community areas for the people they belong to.
In this context, Rama announced that a National Regulation is in the pipeline to legally designate the public spaces for business use.
Freeing up public spaces is essential not only for improving service quality, but also for ensuring the functionality of every business and enterprise in accordance with national standards of hospitality and service—not just in tourist areas, but in every corner of Albania.
“Kicked off in July, this movement continues to drive government action—locally and nationally—to elevate the quality of life across communities.”
