Rama shares views: “Beach on the Vjosa River”

TIRANA, Aug 24 /ATA/ This summer, the banks of the Vjosa River—Albania’s untamed jewel and the heartbeat of its newly declared National Park—are alive with the footsteps of global explorers. From nature lovers tracing the river’s winding path to thrill-seekers paddling through its crystal-clear currents, Vjosa is offering something rare: a journey into a world untouched by modern noise.

Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama posted snapshots of tourists immersed in the natural beauty lining the Vjosa River.

He captioned the moment simply: “Beach on the Vjosa River.”

With its free-flowing course through canyons, dense forests, and lush green fields, the Vjosa has been hailed as the last wild river in Europe.

This unique feature makes it a magnet for tourists seeking authenticity, biodiversity, and sustainable outdoor activities.

Albanian authorities hope that through careful promotion and the protection of the Vjosa River as a National Park, Albania will position itself as an outstanding model for ecotourism—not only in the Balkans, but also on a broader international stage.
