Ministry of Finance finds ILD’s Internal Control System fully effective

TIRANA, Aug 21 /ATA/The Office of the High Inspectorate of Justice underwent an internal control audit conducted by the Directorate for Financial Management Harmonization, Control, and Accounting at the Ministry of Finance.

In a press release, the High Inspectorate of Justice (ILD) reported that in the first week of June 2025, a Ministry of Finance team monitored ILD’s work processes, conducting a detailed analysis and assessment of the internal control systems at the Office of the High Inspectorate of Justice.

The audit verified the control environment, risk management, control activities aimed at reducing risks, information and communication, as well as monitoring—in other words, the entirety of the institution’s activity review processes—by examining the documentary evidence for each item on the control checklist.

At the conclusion of the monitoring and analysis process, the Financial Control Directorate of the Ministry of Finance gave ILD the highest evaluation. Based on responses to 59 questions, the report stated that “the internal control system at ILD is effective, with all 59 items on the control checklist completed and supported by corresponding documentation.”

Pursuant to the Methodology for the Assessment of the Quality of Internal Control Systems in General Government Units, the Internal Control System shall be considered effective if no significant deficiencies, or only minor deficiencies, are detected in the implementation of its control mechanisms, as noted in the ILD announcement.
